Dealing with the public. As a cab driver for many years you come to realize that most people are pretty decent. You can't judge a book by its cover. However it's that 1 person out of 1000 that for whatever reason gets under your skin. These people go through life intimidating people, being jerks, controlling, condiscending or a myriad of other reasons.
If you challange these people and call a spade a spade. They turn around and complain and do everything in their power to have you fired. Your co-workers may all feel the same towards such a person, but they are all afraid of losing their jobs for saying something. You know 'the customer is always right' even though this is not true. Everyone has to kiss these peoples butts, and they continually get away with their obnoxious behavior. But if your the employee that puts them in their place, you will pay dearly for it.
Sort of like the soldiers in WWI who complained about front line conditions. The men in charge listen to their complaints, addressed the problems and had these men shot for insubordination.
So lets give a toast to where credit is due. To all the Whistle Blowers who have the integreity to stand up and fight for what is right regardless of the cost.
