Thinking about a CA 2000, Maybe a BA 2000 Too....

There's a fellow with both, and price is open right now. I'm very interested in the CA 2000. I love the looks, but I'm not sure about the BA 2000 since I already have an AU 919/G8000/9090/9090DB that all have capable amps and pre inputs. Is the CA 2000, and possibly the BA worth pursuing? I have a modern Sansui C2101 preamp also that I enjoy. Thanks for any input!

The CA/BA combo ended up selling for $850. Outta my price range! I'd still like a CA preamp though. Maybe I'll get lucky and find one for a bargain some day.

The BA/CA combo you were looking at are an older generation design than what you are used to, something to consider when you are looking at moving into this particular BA/CA series....

If you have the budget, get at least the BA-3000 and CA-3000 Combo. I have never listen to a BA-2000 & CA-2000, but most Sansui owner will
advise you the same.

Thanks for the tip. I wasn't overly disappointed since they are "entry level" in the series. Still nice regardless though!

Yea,....Thats right Kenwood61,
I think what absolve2525 means " entry Level " is refering to my Advice. Yes the CA-2000 Preamp is a beautifull
piece of equipment althought it is the smaller brother of CA-3000.Many Sansui
Fans prefer it because they like the Look and the "feel" of its volume Control
which is different from that of a CA-3000. (logarithmatic type- CA-2000)
I also personally think that almost all Preamp are Good. What my advice means is that if opportunity and Funds permit, it is much better to get at least the BA-3000 ISO the BA-2000. For me, I love to use
Tone Control on any Preamp as I am not a Fan of Flat Tone. I use almost
all Controls and Filters on my CA-3000 but One Tone Control that we must be carefull of the setting, that is the MIDRANGE. This Midrange has to be set to
" 0 " (Neutral) or just one step forward and the rest we just adjust to our own preference.
There ia a thread somewhere here in these AK which did mentioned that the Volume control of CA-2000 is one of the Best, same type on the AU-20000 (If I am not mistaken.....)

Thanks for the input, guys! I certainly would have bought that CA-2000 if the price was right. I meant "entry level" in the aspect that it's the cheapest in the series. That's all.
