Thinking about an SX 1050

I already have an SX 750 and an SX 828, both working well. A local vendor has an SX 1050 in great shape to sell and tells me he will give me $100 each for them toward the SX 1050, which he lists at $440. (These are Canadian dollars.) It's very tempting, but I'm think about whether I actually need it (not) and hoe much I like the ones I have, both of which I use. It's a big heavy thing and I would use it with my 20 year old Paradigm 7se speakers, but the 828 is already doing a great job. My other systems use newer Yamaha RX 596's, which are great too. Decisions, decisions....

$100 trade in for your 750 and 828 is pretty good but the $450 list is retail. With some patience, you can do better on your CL or maybe a local BIN.

That is just what I was about to say.

They made so many of them things you'll find one. Just keep looking at your local Craigslist or something and you'll find one!

In my opinion, he's going low on what he wants to pay for yours, and going way too high for what he want from you.

It is his right to make any offers he wishes, to make money. It's your right to say no.

I would walk out of this guys store, and never return. Ever.

If your blood pressure is ok, and can stand a bit of elevation without danger, look at ebay closing prices for them.

+1 :yes: Patience...Patience...Patience...I was always looking for a SX-1250 or Sx-1050 and I never thought I would find one for a fair to decent price. Then one day...BOOM..I scored an almost Mint SX-1050 and Pair of JBL 100 Centurys from the original owner. $30 total. Still have them today. I know these deals don't come around often, but they do happen. Every day on AK you read about a member getting a piece of prized gear for little money. NOw where is my Sx-1250

Patience...Patience...Patience...I was not looking for one but I found one at GW with broken glass at the tuner knob which is easy to replace. I have paid $2 us. Good luck finding one. It's a very good looking and sounding unit.
