This 2230 P150 C183 was factory installed per marked polarity

"Everybody" knows that the 2230 P150 C183 capacitor polarity is marked incorrectly on the board. And that a replacement capacitor should be installed the reverse of the markings. This applies to the P150 board on several models.

This is how the cap is usually installed from the factory:

But today, the 2230 I'm working on has the C183 cap factory installed per marked polarity.

Usually I let the factory installed polarity determine how to install a new cap. But what about this time? Was the cap installed "backwards" of backwards accidentally? I think so, but what do you think?

I think it must be a factory error. Does the AM tuner work? I happen to have a P150 out of my 2230 right now. I got tired of working around it as I worked out my FM tuner problems, and needing to reach test points on P300. But here is C183 on it, the way I have always found it on 2230/45/70.

You could measure the dc voltage across the pins to see how it really runs. I'd just put a new one in backwards like every one I've ever seen, the factory did make mistakes. I had a .001uF disc cap in a phono pre board once that was supposed to be 40pF.
 
IIRC, the cap is in the AGC line which is a few volts at max so polarity may not matter much...Still, backwards is backwards.

Use a bi-polar and remove all doubt. :D
