This guy must be on DRUGSSS!

I bought this from him for less than a bill. Great transaction, and a beautiful, fine-sounding receiver. Youngin's Dad owns it now.

His writing style has changed.:scratch2:

Wow........what is that? I've never seen one of those! I only thought they made the black faced stuff for the -50 and -80 series. That's cool as f@*k!

SX-7730, euro version of the SX-737.

I looked at his feedback, and some of his other auctions. I like his style, but hey, I was born and raised in Southern Illinois (south of Shelbyville Moraine).

Perhaps his ad is just trying to appeal to a more youthful buying market now that school is out. You have to admit that it helps to "speak the lingo"...

Southern Illinois used to be part of my territory. Spent some memorable time in Carbondale.

I understand everything.

The guy is an AK member, a pretty nice dude, albeit somewhat excitable, and sells decent gear. His feedback says it all.
:sigh: I was afraid of that. Now I REALLY feel like a complete A**HOLE. Foot in mouth disease for sure :blah:

I agree, feedback is near perfect. great detailed pics ya can see it's condition cosmetically. 99 mula is a deal. He's having fun and so should you. The craziest person from shawneetown lives right next door to me. so ya'll should be safe.

I think its the same guy that does the monster truck commercials on the radio :

YOU GOTTA PAY FOR THE WHOLE SEAT, BUT YOU'LL ONLY NEED THE EEEEEDDDDDDGGGGGEEEEE ! ! ! ! ! !

My thoughts as well... I want some of that southern Illinois brand...

Sent him an e-mail:

Dear Dr. Jive,

Your attempt at informal lobotomy is contrived, unaesthetic and tedious. Unless your post was done under duress - at the point of a vintage gun, or unless you are righteously experimenting with out-of-town tryouts for new identities Vis a Vie the eshmay road show, I would suggest an immediate disclaimer in your listing to recover your credibility and mojo.

Bottom line..........the guy must drink a pot of coffee before placing the listing.

However his feedback percentage is respectable so his hype hasn't seemed to disappoint his buyers and that's the real BOTTOM LINE :thmbsp:

Lefty

Since he's an AK member, he's probably reading this thread. So, my message to him is: drop the stream of consciousness writing style! It makes my eyes glaze over. It's sabotaging the sales effort.

For example, take the SX-828 he's selling. He goes on about Robin Trower, and a Stereo Review article, and I start to nod off. And that's a shame, because buried in the verbiage is the fact that he took this unit to a tech and had bias adjusted and controls cleaned. Those are the kinds of things that would sell me on the unit, and IMHO should be stated first. It tells the buyer that the seller actually knows and cares about audio equipment, and is not some dork selling a "stero" and getting the rated power from the plate on the back with power consumption info.

Of course, OTOH, if his style scares off buyers, then he's sort of a "sleeper brand" on eBay, and a good source with reasonable (though not rock-bottom) prices. So maybe he shouldn't change a thing.

I seem to remember him getting banned from here a long time ago, because he kept posting links to his auctions. Also, most of his posts where like his auction desctiptions. The writing style is pretty annoying, but people buy from him... I remember he got huge money out of a set of those crappy kabuki pioneer speakers from the early 80's... there was a "OMG, look what some fool paid for a set of these crappy speakers" thread about it...

Must work, he sells stuff. Who cares how he gets it done, if in the end he strives to be honest and does a good job.

hmmm, got into arguements with mods 3 years ago in a thread that has been edited quite a bit by a higher-up, then no more posts here after that. Not banned but not exactly a contrubuting member either. I'm pretty sure there was another public scolding of the guy for posting links to his auctions all the time... maybe that one was deleted...

Look at this way, he has good FB, so you likely won't get stiffed. However, his descriptions tend to put people off, so might just get a great deal.:scratch2:
I bought my first Sansui G 9000 from someone who used descriptions just like this guy does. I had the only bid for $225. Can't beat that with a stick!
