This is the week everything changes

Over the past couple of months, I've been researching, planning, and (finally) ordering hi-fi components that represent significant upgrades to my listening system. Out of some odd twist of fate, I'll be receiving all three orders over the next three days...

Tuesday: Onkyo C-7030 CD player to replace my circa-1990 Pioneer PD-M430, which recently stopped recognizing discs (giving me a good excuse to add this highly touted unit to my system)

Wednesday: Woofer replacements from HUMAN Speakers to refurbish my otherwise-mint Harman-era EPI 100s (a recent thrift-store purchase); I plan to use them as near-field monitors (as some other AKers have done)

Thursday: Onkyo A-9050 integrated amplifier to take over primary duties from my vintage Realistic STA-78 receiver

I'll create a thread with photos in Listening Spaces when everything comes together...

I got my dad an Onkyo A-9050 to replace an old Sherwood receiver that died. I thought it was swell

Having now received and connected everything, I'm happy to report thumbs-up on all three upgrades. The C-7030 is delivering incredible clarity, as promised and, just a few hours in, the amp looks to be the slick workhorse I hoped it would be. Most impressive, however, has been the addition of the HUMAN woofers to (admittedly) suspect EPI bookshelves. I'm a very happy camper...
