This might not end well (but might have considerable entertainment value?)...

What the guy should think about getting instead is a car like I have. A pro street car that you can drive on the street and take to the strip if you want to. It has a blown 510 CI big block Chevy that pushes 1,000 HP on 93 octane pump gas and close to 1,200 on race fuel. It also has an adjustable nitrous system for an additional 175 - 400 HP on race gas.

The cage is currently certified for 8.5 seconds and slower.

It's more than enough for me especially since it is more street than strip.

Oftentimes a street car with tons of power is tougher to drive than a lighter race car with more power. You may have your car dialed in so it will go A-B wide open with all your power turned up but you are in the minority as far as pro street cars go.

No comprende there dude. I've owned drag cars too.

Personally, I agree with the comments here, about him needing to get a "beginner engine". Heck, given how easy and inexpensive it is to build close to 1000HP from a decent LS build- probably just drop a turbo LS with some good rods and forged pistons in there at first. Something that you could start "tame", but turn up the boost after experience is under the belt. It'd still be capable of eventually going in the 8s- which would allow him to run with the existing chassis cert, before he jumps in whole-hog with the 2500HP engine and a totally reworked cage/chassis.

Regards,
Gordon.

Wow, definitely not, but please do keep us posted on his "progress".

I agree....it don't matter if it's moving on its wheels, on its top; on its side or airborne as it rumbles down the road. All those positions count a movement. :D

I run boats at 150 mph. Got there 1 mile an hour at a time. First boat ran 40 mph.
This guys never going to run that car full tilt boogie.
Much will come to light the very first time he starts that engine.
