I was 19 when the Who concert deaths happened in Cincinnati. I was supposed to go with a couple of friends but our car broke down in Indy. When we heard the news we kind of looked at each other in disbelief and suddenly didn't feel so unfortunate. It was the first and last time that I ever wanted to go to a stadium show.

I was probably 17 or 18 when the Who tragedy happened. I had tix to a later show at Madison Square Garden (probably a week or so after Cincy), but my Mom begged me to get rid of them. I did.

The night of The Who concert, I went to a concert... in Cincinnati.

I was with a date and by the time I got home, my mother was frantic. I was unable to get Who tickets but... was able to get some to Harry Chapin which was also downtown, several blocks away from where the Who concert was.

A friend of mine was at that show, unscathed... but said it was pretty intense.

I remember the Cincinnati tragedy well.....:tears:
The Who played an intimate setting ( Masonic Auditorium ) in Detroit just before,a few friends and I attended that show.Then they came to The Pontiac Silver dome after Cincinnati. That show still sold out.
I remember that doors at the Cincinnati concert that should have been open,were chained. The blame lay with their idea of crowd control.
