Thorens 124 So close but not close enough...

Hi friends...
My rendezvous with TD 124 looks not yet destined i guess... I saw this CL ad and then called immediately ( without 1 hour of posting) and this gentleman was selling his Thorens 124 with SME tonearm for 550 and it had Shure V-15 MR cart... He was three hours away in Grassvalley, CA... He said if I beat the other person, I can have it for the same price he listed... Well it was not meant to be... If i could have made it, I would have bundled another SL-120 with infinity tonearm together... unfortunately both the turntables are sold already... Just ranting...

He perhaps would have held it for $750, which would still be a steal. Best to step up in these kinds of situations.
 
Didn't want to do that.. Maybe the guy who bought was waiting for a long time for this price point...
 
That's a crazy price. The table is $700-1000, the arm is $300+, the cart is a decent amount too. I'm sure he was swamped with calls.
