Thorens 125 mkII damping

I finished up a TD 150 mkII, with lots of advice from AK threads, members(special thanks to Jim and Mel) and the Analog Depot.
Now I am working on a state of the art system. Thorens 125 mkII, SME 3009 S2(detachable headshell), and Shure V-15, series iii. Well, state of the art for 1974. Lots of tweaking info on the 150/160. Not so much of the more solidly built TD 125.
I have made the plinth much more substantial. I am planning on removing the spring suspension, like the EMT 928.
My question is about the damping. I used Dynamat Extreme on the TD 150. I would use it again if I wanted to turn a TD 160 into a Super.
So for the TD 125, is damping with the Dynamat Extreme of any benefit?

The TD-150 sub-chassis is made from sheet metal and damping does help. The TD-125 however is a heavier cast metal. If you decide to damp the chassis I would make sure it is reversable. I have owned many TT's over the years and my experience is you can over damp a TT till it sucks the life out of it. Read dull and without dynamics that are in live music....

Did you build a plinth for the old one to just sit in?

Jim,
I had some purpleheart, slightly more than 3/4" thick, which I cut into four boards. The board width is about 3-3/4", with the front being about 2-3/4". I did not cut miter joints, just straight cuts. I also replaced the chipped veneer from the original 125 plinth, where it is not covered by the purple heart.
The purpleheart is glued and screwed onto the original plinth.
Simple, heavy, and feels solid.

Thanks Jim. Just a cell phone photo. I do believe it looks better in person. What's your thought on damping the 125? I am starting to think it's not necessary. I may limit the Dynamat to the motor plate and a few strips on the inner platter.
