Finally someone did it!
I was looking for these Hinges like forever, but they were always be so pricey on eBay, So finally you can get the whole 4Pcs set of the Thorens Hinges!

I was missing mine for so long, that I gave up years ago... so every time I want to listen to my Thorens TD 145 MK II (which I believe is one of the best, if not The best Turntable ever made), I just take my dust cover and put it aside :/

Fingers crossed this is going to bring my Thorens Turntable to it's glory days! =)

I don't want to rain on your parade but the original hinges are POS of a design and will brake if you tilt the dust cover just a tad over 90 degrees. They look like a serious compromise to the general build quality and do not, under any circumstances, stand to standard with the rest of the classic TD series turntables. I've purchased original hinges in the past, the most recent about two years ago for something like $36 from the UK. I was under the impression, even back then, that I paid through my nose. It's a dang weak and breakable piece of plastic with zero effect on the sound quality. Not only that, it seems to me, using the TT with the dust cover on, is some sort of a vibe magnet. I always get sort of an 'echo' when I do that. I understand the enthusiasm but I share very little of it in this case. Bear in mind it's still just some plastic for 50 bucks. Seems a little unreasonable and excessive to me, very far from being a 'catch'. There's no OMG factor here.

I work on all of the 1965 to 1985 Thorens models, and I joke all the time that their dust cover hinge design dept. probably invented smoking crack...they all have significant flaws. The only decent ones came on the TD-160 Supers and TD-147s. The rest were either needlessly complicated (TD-125s) or incredibly brittle (TD-160, TD-166 MKII, et al)

Hey again all!

First off all sorry for the misplaced post of eBay (it was done without any intention)

Secondly, I just got the Hinges today, and boy I must say they are really great, they've done an amazing job with these!
You are correct Tom, I do remember that everyone always mentioned that the regular Hinges would always brake off if "you tilt the dust cover just a tad over 90 degrees".
But I also read that it was due to the material from which it was composed from (Regular plastic) which over time gets dry and would break off...

But now according to the item description and also from my own inspection, after installing them, they are truly made from Nylon + FG, which means truly extra strength!
I read some articles about this, and apparently this material can withstand over 100c degrees, and hold for 10-20 years in good conditions,
I truly believe this is the last I will ever hear about these Hinges, seems like a permanent fix (Finally!)

I really like that I can keep the Dust cover over the turntable without the need to put it aside whenever I feel like listening to a good old 180g Metallica Albums and etc.
And "Yes", at first thought it does seem to be weird to pay almost $50 for some small plastic parts, but then again it's no plastic, and to my opinion it is going to last for a good decade or so and to my opinion it is a good investing for many years to come.

That's ok by me. I am a new guy and just found out about that link rule. I then went through all my posts and removed all the links I had posted by accident. It was quite easy to delete them by editing the post. If you want to retain the integrity of your (very useful) thread you could add a line of text re: the location of the hinges. I am no moderator so can not force you to remove it but thought that you would like to set a good example and do that.
