Thorens TD-125 motor on TD-160?

After having acquired my second TD-160 to adjust and sell, I noticed some differences but the one about the motor pulley really strikes me:
this is the pulley in the TD-160 I already posted about here.

A Google search would suggest this is a TD-125 pulley.
Is it possible early TD-160s mounted the same pulley as TD-125s?

How do I open the C clip? I'd like to clean the pulley, but I'm afraid to use too much force and deform or break the clip...
 
The proper tool would be a pair of snap-ring pliers. See your local auto mechanic or machinist.

I've got a TD-160 with the push down pulley that reveals a set screw. Unfriendly design -- and it's essential to remove it to clean it and oil the motor.

Now I wonder: what about the TD-165 pulley? I can't see no screws nor C clips....
 
Hey all, I know its an old "zombie thread" BUT, I'm wondering Can I convert a TD165 motor to use a TD160 clutch and pulley? Is there any reason to do this?
 
Easier to do a TD 160 motor swap outright. And it's a less finicky clutch and pulley functionally speaking. And why not get the TD 160 inner platter swapped out while you're at it, if available and doable.
