Thorens TD-145 Cratridge recommendation

I posted in the Thorens thread but did not get a response. I have a Thorens TD-145 that needs a Cartridge and was looking for a someone with the same table or a TD-160 ect that could give me an ideal on a $200 budget. Just want to order one on line and try it out. Thanks in advance!

I loved the DL160 (discontinued) on mine. I'm sure a DL110 would be great. Maybe also a Nagaoka MP110 or the classing pairing of a Stanton 681EEE.
 
Going to order the Audio Technica AT-440MLa, hoping there's no issues in istalling it. Will it be pretty straight forward?

It should be. Do you have a stock headshell, or one that has been modified to allow cartridge mounting from the top? I have one of each that I use on my TD-160.

If you have a stock one, you will just need to have the proper length mounting screws and possibly a spacer or two in order to allow you to get the VTA set properly. If you don't have a set of the original screws, keep in mind that they are not the same size as the screws that come with most cartridges. They are metric, and they are quite a bit smaller diameter. 2mm if I recall correctly. If you need to purchase some, there are a couple of people that sell them on flea bay (no affiliation.)

Good luck on getting your AT-440MLa set up. I have considered purchasing one for use on my TD-160, so I would certainly be interested in hearing what you think of it. Right now I am running a Shure M91ED with JICO SAS stylus in one headshell, and a Stanton 681EE in the other. I really like the Shure, and am just getting familiar with the Stanton. So far I like it though.
