Thorens TD 145 thick shaft ? or what

Heys guys just picked a Thorens TD 145 and have notice an issue with getting the Lp's on and off the platter? unlike my other 4 TT's. It's like the shaft is a wee bit thicker and I do not like prying up nor pushing down to get the record on and off the platter. Any other Thorens owners have this issue?

All my Thorens tables are that way. One time on and off and the records are fine. The spindles on Thorens tables are slightly larger than most.

Thorens spindles are little bigger, I made a tool open the hole of LP's.

Yep! Same TT, same problem. I keep a rat tail file next to the table and just pry the hole open a bit. Oh, BTW, my Empire 598 spindle is the same way.

I confirm this seems to be the case with my TD-160 MK-II. Curiously, not with my TD-124.

to widen the hole i use a cheap bic pen, hollow. couple of twists and good to go

It's that way on my TD320 too. I like it. It's almost like a built in clamp!
