I agree, I have one table that does something. It is actually a full auto but I didn't care as long as it was at least semi-auto.

My dilemma is solved, I ended up purchasing the Thorens, I got it for a good deal and am going to upgrade the cartridge/stylus. The Ortofon VMS 5e is very lacking on the low end and the highs are very flat. Tomorrow I'm going to visit a local vintage electronics store and look at potentially getting a Shure m97xe, Pickering XV-15, or Ortofon Super OM 20.

I don't know about that Shure being an upgrade over anything except the stylus on the Ortofon. That is a good cartridge with a starter level stylus.
Tom complained about the bass in an Ortofon until he listened enough to realize it was there, tight and accurate, not soft, flabby and overdone. YMMV.

I was thinking, given the pretty good deal made on the TD 150 purchase, that the OP might consider investing a bit more money than the choices above mentioned would cost, and would suggest perhaps a Shure v15 III with a Shibata stylus or a Micro Acoustics 2002 perhaps with a Needlestein (ex-AKer) repair if required.
What do you all of those suggestions for the TD 145 as compared to the three cartridges above?
Of course, based on the opinions offered here and his own personal considerations, the OP will ultimately evaluate whether any suggested 'upgrade' cartridge is worth the increased cost and if he wants to spend the money.
I guess behind my suggestions is my thinking that the Thorens kinda deserves a better cartridge if the budgets allow for that.
