Thorens TD 160 problems update

Hello all again,

I finally got the belt!

And you where right about the 45RPM, now it works.

The only minor problem now is that the platter slightly scratches on the long screw next to the motor. At the moment I solved the problem by removing that screw...

What do you think?

It could be a safety post it's sctratching against if it is located near the belt pully. The suspention is riding too low if this is happening. Next is suspention alignment as per the Tim Bailey method.

Let us know if you need any help with it.

Get that suspension adjusted and replace the long screw, there are a lot of Thorens motors with bent shafts floating around due to platters hitting the pulley!

The tension of the new belt has changed everything. You have to adjust the springs again. Adjust springs with new belt in place.
