Thorens td166 rega armboard. source?

where does one get a prefab properly spec'd armboard to mound an RB300 to a thorens td166?

i saw one on that there auction site, but i really don't want to ship from the UK, aside from the fact that this seller only does auctions, and no buy it now.

anyone know of a shop in north America i could source this part from?

well, i ordered one from england. after alot of searching, that seems to be the only source of that part unless i were to make it myself.

does anyone here have a modified TD166?

so far i have polished my platter, cut a cork mat, damped the subchassis with cork, and ordered the rega adapter.
i am going to cut an acrylic bottom for it.

i want to change the counterweight on the arm, but i am not sure wether to go with a pete riggle, or mitchell part.

what kinds of modifications have you done to your thorens?

here are a few pics of my table.

the first pic is the adapter plate i have on order, the third shows the damping i have done so far.

some of the stuff underneath will need to be removed due to it not being needed, such as the arm lift switch / mechanism.

i am basically inspired by this mod

It looks good, once you have the arm set up, I'm sure it will sound amazing! Which cart will you put on it?

it is a nice looking table, personally i really like the design of the 145-146-147-160-165-166 tables a lot. theres a reason thorens revamped that design with the td160 hd. its a solid design and with improvemts such as the ones im doing, it can sonically best most tables in the 0-2000$ range, and even outdo some higher end ones.

so far im at about 1/3rd of the damping done. still have the other side of the sub chassis to do, and the rest of the metal around that area.

i have two platters, so i can dampen one and do listening tests between them.

i was thinking of getting an AT440MLa. i have heard good things about these carts, apparently they perform well on rega arms, and i have a hookup to get AT products at a considerable discount.

i am still having trouble deciding on a counterweight and end stub.

theres the origin live, pete riggle equivalent, the mitchell, seen a few of those off center "heavy weight" ones... i kinda like the heavyweight style ones...but so far i cant seem to source one.

so i have finished damping the metal parts of the TT.

and i have manufactured the acrylic base and attached the feet.

so far so good. now i am just awaiting the arm board.
