Thorens TP13 Tonearm

I just acquired a Thorens TD 150AB with a TP13 tonearm. It has the original tonearm but it's missing the cue lever. It functions w/o the cue lever, but it looks like it's missing a tooth. I was wondering if I should go ahead and replace the whole tone arm with something else or just find the cue lever tonearm part for the TP13 tonearm. If I replace the tonearm, I really don't want to mess with the tonearm board. Is there a tonearm that fits with the tonearm board w/o modification? I am really only looking to spend $300.00 if I go with a new tonearm. Any suggestion or help will be appreciated.

Can you post a photo showing the missing parts? Replacements likely can be found online for much less than $300.
 
Hi Nicky Jz ! Welcome to the AK ! These arms are very, and I mean very underrated and undervalued. I actually was able to balance a 30 gram cartridge/headshell with it. The counterweight has a screw-out aux. weight in the back which allowed me to balance my fave Ortofon SPU-GT, mounted on the stock Thorens headshell. Sound was awesome; comparable to my high dollar tables.

The second generation TD-150 had a different arm, which actually, mistakenly has more demand. The headshells are the same...Yes, I have had a few of these tables. TD-150 MK I motor and bearing are excellent. Simply renew the bearing oil with thin synthetic. Belts are available. Since these tonearms are still under valued, you should be able to get parts for this Mk I you have. The pic looks like you are missing the counterweight ? If you cannot find the original, use any that fit and balances your cart for your needed tracking force. At least, you can start using this fine table and then decide later to upgrade, if needed...
 
You are welcome. I have mounted other arms on these TD-150 tables. Notable was a B&O TA-12 which uses their Stereodyne II carts, which were marketed by Dyanco in the early '60s. That arm was a drop-in, but cueing then was manual only. Still, I simply had to try that arm and cart...

Some of the TD-150 arm boards are wooden, others plastic. Try it out and ENJOY !
