Thoughts on your favorite mid level vintage receivers?

I bought an '89 Sony mid level amp back in '89. Still sounds really good. Kinda unbelievable really. Nice amp.

A while back my Sansui amp crashed out. So... I used the Sony. I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised.

I had an HK A402 that was crazy sweet at 40 wpc. I really regret giving that to my in laws, but I'll get it back some day. The Sansui 881 through 661 are also very nice and sneak in under the radar and don't command the crazy prices of other Sansuis.
 
I have to throw in another vote for the Concept line. I had a 4.5D I really liked. They're less common outside of California, but can be found for a song. They're more common out here, but are starting to fetch Sansui/Pioneer (but not quite Marantz) money.

These have all been great suggestions, I’m sorry I’ve been delayed in getting back to y’all. I’ve had a very busy couple of days with school and am trying to focus on finishing the semester rather than coping with stress via vintage audio. But I’ve still got my monster Yamaha and Pioneer, they are in my main system though and I would like a smaller system in my family room.
Again, thank you all for your suggestions! These are great ideas and I have really enjoyed googling each and finding what’s available on the market.
I feel in love with the looks of the Sony STR 7065 and found a great priced Luxman L210. I’ll keep reviewing all of your ideas, thank you for the help. The advice has been an outpouring!
 
Also, thanks for the included photos! It makes my research much easier to know what the receivers look like. I’ll be watching the market over the next little while for a good deal and match for my needs based off of your recomendations. I’ll fill y’all in when I have more news to share!

Another vote for the HK. The 330C might not be in the same wheelhouse of what you're after (watt-wise) but for 20WPC, this unit delivers with excellent sound quality and is easy to modify and work on.

If your speakers are efficient, and an easy load not going below 6 ohms, the Harman-Kardon 330 series are a nice choice. Like earlier said, only 20 watts/channel. This one is well built, sounds very nice, and usually reliable if not abused.

I love the looks of those HKs and I've never heard one before, but I'll take your word for it!

Amen! +1 (sorry, I'm a bit partial towards mine) ;)

@Muel_pete ...and, if you ever run into a problem with the 330 series, @dlucy is a good resource here on AK. There are several repair threads available on AK and a nice video series on YT about it, too.
 
One of my favorite vintage receivers is the Pioneer SX 737 a friend once owned. It seems to have a well balanced clean accurate sound with just the right amount of warmth. One of their best looking IMO too and very good build quality and Feel to the controls.

Another fine vintage receiver is the Realistic STA-90 I bought new, But since gave away. Another handsome devil with performance to match. Note the input selected actually lights up the word in red letters on the panel and the color changing dial pointer for stereo. Love that detail. And of course a real walnut veneer cabinet.
