Thrift find: Elac Miracord 760

I found this turntable today for $25.
It looks pretty clean.
A Shure cartridge is mounted, but I can see nearly nothing of it.
The dustcover could use a bit of polishing, but it has no serious damage.
It appears to function mechanically, but there is some mechanical noise linked to the platter turning (motor bearings?).

The right channel RCA cable was having a problem with connection to ground, so I replaced it.

I do not see much in the way of threads regarding maintenance on these turntables.
I would like to give the thing a cleaning and lube and see if there are any electrical issues inside.
Can anyone give some leads on maintenance info?
Right now I cannot change speeds.

Waiting for responses, I will run out and find my can of lithium grease and some contact cleaner and get to cleaning any stiff grease.

Mechanically the same as a Miracord 50H, except motor is not Papst synchronous.
Cleaning and lubing the shaft the idler assembly is on should fix speed change issue. (happens with 50H's too...) (If pitch control - 50hII mechanism)

I have cleaned up the worst of the grease-turned-playdough.
The speed change problems responded readily to my gently forcing the speed change cam-thing in the front left corner to move through its full range of vertical motion a few times, along with removal of the dried grease caked around it. That plus a touch of grease here and there on things that slide and pivot, and it now works fine.

The cartridge is a Shure M91ED. It's a scrawny looking thing, but it seems to work fine.

The clicking vanished on reassembly.

I like the feel of this turntable. It is very quiet and smooth.

The Shure M91ED is a nice cartridge. May want to look at a JICO Japan N91E replacement stylus. That is about the best currently offered. Nice table and looks like it is in great shape too.

Nice find. As said not a lot to them. Have a Shure M91ED on one of my 1219 Duals. I would replace the stylus with a Jico as suggested above
