Thule Audio IA100 Integrated Amplifier

I picked this up today. Like the credenza it's sitting on, it was made in Denmark. It's temporarily serving as part of an SACD/streaming system downstairs, but will eventually move upstairs into the bedroom. The seller said he had the remote, but then he couldn't find it. Hopefully, it will turn up, but until then, I'll probably use a Logitech Harmony remote.

Not much to look at, but it sure sounds nice:

I had a PA-250 at one time and I agree with you on these - nothing eye-catching, but very nice sounding.

I haven't popped the top yet, but the build quality seems top notch - very heavy and I can see through the top and bottom vents that it has a row of heat sinks that runs the width of the chassis.

It will most likely end up in my bedroom system driving a pair of KEF 104/2 speakers.

Thule is good stuff. When I was a dealer way back when the line was pitched to me several times. I never "had room" for the line in my store, but I was very impressed with the quality and the sound. It's a line that reminds me a lot of the old Tandberg line - kind of industrial looking, but very very well built and real good sound.

It's really got a lot of "oomph" for such a compact integrated amp. I guess by keeping it simple and not adding a lot of features and associated buttons and knobs all over the front panel they were able to pack a lot of good, clean power into a relatively small space.

I'm listening Steely Dan Gaucho on SACD now and it sounds great. The 3D Acoustics 3D610W three-piece system isn't the most efficient and the Thule really seems to breath some life into them.

To be honest, I wasn't familiar with the Thule Audio brand until I saw this IA100 pop up on my local craigslist. It looked well built and interesting. So, I did some online research and the price seemed right, so I went for it. Can any of you more knowledgeable folks tell me more about my latest purchase (i.e., approximate date of manufacture, cost when new, etc.)? I've been listening to it several hours a day since I bought it and am very pleased with the sound quality.
