I am going to go look at these tomorrow if they aren't gone already. Origional owner says he is selling because moving out of state and into an apartment. Stated he would rather they go to someone who understands what they are and is negotiable on the $150 tag. Dimensions are 41" x 17" x 8". Assures me I can listen to them first and guaranteed them to be in perfect working order. Not that I don't have enough speakers already but I did get rid of a couple sets this week. They didn't take up the footprint that the DCM's will but it will give me a reason to give my daughter a couple sets for her house. I traded a pair of Sparko-Altec Model 103's and 4 Ford OEM 6"x9"'s for a pair of Kenwood KL 888D's that the cabinets are a little rough on but sound great. Those will make good party speakers for daughters' house and at 17 1/2" wide by 11" deep the footprint is the same as the DCM's. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.:smoke::smoke::smoke:

Go for it, I've seen cheaper but they are still worth it. Do you still have the Timebases? They would make a good combo.
 
Of all the Timeframes I've come across, the 600s are my personal favorite.

I too, have seen 'em cheaper- as low as $50, but usually around $100- but truly worth the asking price, if not much more.

These will have two rear facing tweeters on the angled side-backs of the cabinets, by the way. Adds some nice dimension to the music.
 
I'd venture to say the going rate of these should be $200-$250, but they just don't garner that for some reason.
 
Be sure to stick your ear...

...up to all the drivers, especially the 3 tweeters...There are two in the back hidden on the angled sides, and one hidden as a co-ax in the top 6.5 woofer. Listen to both woofers too, but they seem less susceptible to damage than the tweeters (Duh!...:stupid:)


Also realize that they are mirror image speakers, and the DCM emblems should be on opposite corners, and that proper placement is with the emblems closest to each other...If they have the same driver placement, I wouldn't buy them...

Even if the emblems were mistakenly replaced in the identical spot, you can feel the different locations of the drivers through the sock if you gently place your hand on the sock and run it up and down with gentle pressure...let your fingers do the walking.....:D
 
I'm with the rest of the crew on these, $150 is not the cheapest you may find these, but if they are in good operating condition, they are well worth the money. Get your pair now before the rest of the world finds out how nice the 600's are, and the prices go up!
 
I got my 600's at a YS for $12 (they need new grill socks, but all drivers appear good). I've been mightly impressed with them.
