Greetings!
My dad owned a Harman-Kardon Amp from the 60's to the 90's - it quit working sometime in the 80's. There is no tuner, but I have few of line-level out tuners to plug in.
I strongly think the power supply isn't working (and hasn't been powered on in nearly 20 years)
Should I even try powering it up to test for voltages, or just be pro-active and replace the caps first?
I'd hate to destroy a tube or transformer in my haste to see what's working.
I remember that (some) tubes will glow when energized, but that's little to go on.
I have the schematic for this unit, which lists voltages to test for on the schematic.
Was this ever produced in kit form? I've seen what looks like the same model with white slide switches instead of the black ones this has.
