Tires and Turntables...

I like the "not sure of brand or condition" one in the first link. Nice Art-Deco look to it.

WTH are "Greensheets"??

Those old 'tire' stores sold a lot of stuff besides tires back in the day. Western Auto was another one, can't remember their electronics brand. Someone will come up with it. They sold Wizard vacuum cleaners - I had one once and sold it to a Western Auto collector whose parents had owned a store.

Firestone Air Chief radios are not that uncommon, I've seen em here and there. BF Goodrich on a radio though...that one I haven't seen!

Yes, Western Auto was a big retailer back in the day. Had stores in many states. I'm pretty sure their house electronics brand was Truetone. My uncle owned a store in Plattsburg, MO for many years. Have fun, and good listening!

Western Auto Truetone.

Sears had Silvertone.

A lot of those chain stores had their stuff OEM'd by Wells-Gardner and Bellmont out of Chicago. There were some others too but those guys were big manufacturers that put their own name on very little. They mostly made stuff for other companies.
