Tis the season - Favorite Christmas Albums

Let me just say I am not the biggest Christmas music fan on Earth. However I do enjoy Spinning Christmas vinyl for a few days of the year. Was wondering what albums people like and the sound quality of those albums.

I'll start with one of my favorites - Ray Charles The Spirit of Christmas

My copy is a original Recorded in 1985. Ray did most of the arranging of the songs and the production so IMO it is first rate. The tracks have a soulful, gospel influence as one would expect. The rendition of the little drummer boy is one of the highlights of the Album.

Sound quality is very good with the Mastering done at the Mastering Labs in Hollywood CA.

Favorites for me....

The Andy Williams Christmas Album (red cover) and Merry Christmas Andy Williams (green cover) are probably 2 of my favorites along with the Dean Martin Christmas Album.

The Carpenter's Christmas Portrait. Believe it or not....I am warming up too Steve Perry's The Season.

Vince Guaraldi had the most unique piano sound that no one else could emulate. I could listen to this record any day of the year! Black Orpheus is also outstanding.

Her duet with Rosemary Clooney is over the top, they've collaborated before. Also, her cover of Jomi Michell's River is an awesome surprise, rivals Joni's version from Blue.
Side two is like spending Christmas morning at church but gorgeously shows off a vocal range you rarely hear her record, mezzo soprano to soprano. She gets way up there!

Best sounding/recorded album by far.... picked it up for 99 cents 40 years ago.

No, I'm serious. A favorite at our house, bought originally by my parents in something like 1967 with a bucket of chicken.
