Tivoli Model One - Red/Blue Lights?

Hi. I recently bought a brand new old-stock dark-walnut Tivoli Model One tuner, platinum series. The box shows a 2006 Tivoli copyright... but that's not to say the unit was made in that year - just not before. I think Tivoli may have released the platinum series on a couple of occasions (besides the 20th anniversary edition), but I'm not certain. In any case, I was expecting the indicator lights to be the green/yellow like I see countless photos of online, but to my surprise, they were red/blue!

I contacted Tivoli customer support and they said it's a legit thing that was done in limited quantities sometime ago, but had no more specific info available to give me. I'm wondering just how old my unit might be... and in what circumstances were units released with red/blue lights. Anyone able to offer some insight on this?

I have several (4) Tivoli Model One's in my house. A "Model Satellite" in my home office, two bedrooms have the original Model One and the bathroom has a 20th Anniversary model. I'm one of those nuts that obsessed for years trying to find the perfect radio for the bathroom. I just have to be able to listen to the local PBS station when getting ready in the morning! I tried various portable radios, boomboxes, table radios, etc., in the bathroom, before finally buying a Model One when it first came out. You just can't beat its sound and reception prowess. All those radios (and a PAL I also own) have the ubiquitous green/yellow LEDs. I've never seen or heard of a red/blue variant so I'd just consider myself lucky, if I were you, that you own a rare version.
 
I'm more than curious, I'm jealous !

Here's mine. It sits on top of the fridge, coax running to a rooftop Channel Master antenna. I can pick up everything on that little thing. There's a small television next to it, plugged into the Aux channel. Very fun radio.

I have a PAL in black, with optional carrying case. The rubber coating wore off quickly, weird stuff. It doesn't get used much anymore...the battery isn't very good. I've replaced it a few times but won't do it again, not until there's a lithium version available.
 
Billy, not to Borgart the OP's thread, but how did you mate coax to that wierd antenna jack?

Edit: Never mind, just looked, its the plug thats wierd, the jack is a regular F/9A...duh!

Mine has the green/yellow LED'S BTW ...
 
@GreenCDN I have three Model One's, all over 20 years old, none with the aux switch and a Songbook(does have aux). That dark shiny walnut cabinet looks excellent.
Was there anything about the platinum performance wise that set it apart?

I have one of these in addition to one with the green and yellow lights. My serial # is R1208 647585. Maybe we should start a club.
 
I notice that the above pictures show the name Henry Kloss above the Model One name. I am looking at a Model One for sale that does NOT have anything above the name. Anyone know if there are any differences? Thanks Al
