Today's flea market score

Went to the flea market today looking for nothing in particular. Found this Realistic STA-77 for $10.00. Dirty as hell, and sounded like AM band during a thunderstorm. I cleaned the switches and pots and hooked it up to some EPI Magnus 10's that I bought a couple of months ago when I got my B&w's. I don't think the EPI's have their original tweeters. They have Motorola Piezos:yikes: in their place. I must admit though they sound pretty darn good. The Realistic looks to be around 30 watts/channel and can push these speakers fairly loud. I was surprised by the amount of bass they can put out before the amp runs out of power. Still need to clean the faceplate and I might just keep it in the workshop where I am fixing it...I didn't have anything to run the speakers on until today. Not bad I guess.:yes:

For 10 bucks I'd say you did well. Looks like it will clean up well and maybe sand and refinish the cab too. I like it! :yes:
 
I stopped at an estate sale, first mad to see I missed scoring some mid level gear and butt load of LP's, but noticed the guy overlooked something... an NAD 2600A amp. Its dirty and needs cleaned up, but I picked it up for $1. We shall see how it sounds shortly.

Which flea market was it where you made your score, USA or the airport one? I've never found anything at either.

Neither, I went to the Odessa Flea Market on SR 54. It is a small (around 8 acres) place, but has mostly yard-sale type booths. Not as much "dollar-store" type stuff as the big ones. There are two booths with thousands of records for sale. Also, one guy has a lot of vintage audio and musical gear, (he has some nice HPM-200's) but he wants E-bay prices for most of it. I got this receiver from an individual in the yard sale area.
 
Yeah, I went to that one once and did not think it was worth the drive from Chassahowitzka. You never know though.

Hmmmm.....haven't heard back, perhaps it ain't sounding at all...fingers crossed!
 
From the looks of the top cover, it looks like that NAD got wet. (insert joke here) For a dollar though, anything can happen. Good luck with it.:thmbsp:
 
Great score you've got there! The Realistic STA-77 is rated for 16wpc RMS into 8 ohms. You can get the rest of the specs here.

Wow, it sure sounds like a lot more. :lmao: Glad I have it on some efficient speakers! It's just a baby.:yes:
 
Great find, I also have a realistic recievier, STA-850, I think it's 50 wpc. Anyway it stills sounds and looks great. It was my first receiver after I got married and boy did I have to do some slick talkin to get my wife on board with buying it. Enjoy the music.
