I usually try to find out some stuff about the band. This band is kind of a mystery. A guy over at Garage Hangover thought they might be from Bloomingdale Michigan. Which is actually closer to Chicago media than Detroit media. I couldn't find any material from "Back From The Grave Vol 5" like liner notes or whatever. So here's this:
The problem is that there seem to be at least 3 "The Jaguars" in Michigan, including one that does polka. And there's another 3 or so in Indiana. The breakthrough came when I looked at the flip side of the record:
I thought the tune was just some obscure Tin Pan Alley thing covered and revved up by the band. But the flip side is also written by a guy named Hosner. So I figured it's probably an original song. So more googling led to this:

That guy grew up in a different town and joined the band later on and the band's name at that time was "The Phog" (heavy concept stuff). But there was still no hard connection between the song and Bloomingdale Michigan. Until this:
There they are. Hosner and Leathers. High School kids with a future "nugget" 45.

Tony Barber who appears in the ad with The Throb was once Rhythm Guitarist and Songwriter for Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs.

My little "garage" moment. Ft. Hamilton in Brooklyn had (and probably still does) a rec center with pool tables, etc, and a "studio" where you could use their amps and play guitar. So one afternoon a buddy and I are playing and it's pretty loud. The "studio" was separated from the pool tables by a wooden roll up shutter. Out of courtesy we rolled down the shutter to block the sound. After a while we hear this sound and they're whacking the shutter with their pool cues. So we roll up the shutter and they told us to turn it down cuz the pool balls were bouncing.
