Is this a good wire choice for a Transcriptor fluid tone are rewire?

High quality copper Litz wire made up from 30 strands of 0.04mm enamelled copper wire encased in silk easy to work with.

Does anybody know what .04mm converts to in Awg wire gauge?

That's about 46 AWG on the strands, 31 AWG equivalent. You can enter 31 in the calculator here for more info. You have to solder at a fairly high temperature to solder through the insulation- it's too fine to scrape it. It's important that all the strands get connected at each end. I assume the benefit is flexibility because that wire is actually optimized for a frequency higher than audio, though it should work fine.
