Tone down Piezo Speakers

G'day all...first post so go easy on me
I have been a mobile DJ for over 44 years and still working clubs & pubs at 65 yo. My grandson asked me to build some "proper" DJ speakers for him (he is only 12yo but already working school functions and friends parties).....I have a shed full of odds & sods speakers, so no problem turning up a couple of RCF 15" for the bottom end, still looking for some mids but I found 4 brand new Motorola KSN 1025A still in their plastic wrapping. Great, 2 for each bin. This is where my memory fails me...I seen to remember we used to place 2 x 10 watt resisters in parallel on the + tag of the speaker to tone down the volume/harshness of the piezo but my limited electronics knowledge says this cant be right.
Is there any easy way to turn down or tone down the piezos

I am sorry if this is repeating previous threads...I did do a search but not much showed.

This thread has some info. Basically you want to cross it over at a high enough frequency to prevent the harshness, rather than running it open as is typical for most applications where this tweeter is used. This solution might not work with a 2-way design, but since you said you're searching for mids, I have to assume that's not a problem you're going to face.

It's one thing to live in a hot land...quite another to live in a hot land that's on fire. Hoping like hell y'all get the situation down there cooled off sooner than later.

A couple of speaker level potentiometers sure would make for easy, on the fly adjustments to get that tweeter at an appropriate level as varying environmental conditions dictate.. Got a few there in that shed, maybe?

Thank you for the info...I am digesting the info from the linked threads...... its making sense.
Fires.. I am on 10 acres and bushfire was 50 metres from my back fenceline, a fire bomber appeared from nowhere and dropped its load of water along my fenceline...we evacuated but our home was OK. Fires that started in November will burn till April or until drenching rain occurs.
