Tonearm effective mass question- Kenwood KP-9010

Does anybody know the effective mass of the tonearm of a Kenwood KP-9010 (which should be the same as a KP-1100 and it looks similar to the one on a KD-990/KP-990/KP-7010)? Vinyl Engine didn't have the mass info. If actual grams are unknown, even a spitball light, medium, heavy designation is useful. Just trying to bounce that info off of cartridge compliance #s while it sits in customs at JFK. Thanks in advance!

I am sure you have found the answer by now as you posted this question 15 years ago! That said, I'd like to resurrect this thread as I just got a KP-9010 and I can't find much information out there either.

I did read one response on a forum (can't find it anymore) that suggested the tonearm's effective mass is between 17-21 grams with the original headshell but if anyone knows more, please let us know.

I weighed the original KP-9010 headshell without hardware and wires and got nearly 12 grams, which is quite heavy. I replaced it with a Denon PCL-5 which is very light at about 6 grams. My Ortofon 2M Black is now sounding much better. I believe the original headshell made the tonearm too heavy for the 2M Black's compliance of 22.
