I really appreciate the extra insight, including the look up. I am curious about the buy and pleased you feel it a fair price. I was thinking along the same lines. I will keep you posted if I pick it up. I have an SL1200 mkII, but this has caught my eye as well.I think this is a EPA 102L tonearm. The bronze pivot appears unique.
No personal experience; looks to be an OK arm. Perhaps a bit less than TT deserves today, but an OK match.
Nice TT, fair price, I looked at it & researched arm, but too far for me to travel.......
yeah, I hear you. Kind of a curious plinth. If I pick it up I will consider adding some walnut stock to square or box it up under the TT. I’m not sure I’m digging the chrome legs (although it might be a nice match with some vintage JBL ).Ha! I have the same table (and others) and it caught my eye too! Not a huge fan of the plinth, but all said, me likey.
I could play it as is today. Best case, I would swap out everything but the drive and power supply. Tone arm is fine, but probably low to mid fi. Plinth has no dust cover, probably bad feet, no arm boards, not sure about the cutout. Drive and power supply can be endgame hi-fi. This would probably be a project for me, but an attractive entry into a world-class table.Would you have a recommendation for an improved tonearm for the set up?
…looks like I missed out on it. I wonder if I was dragging my feet in hopes that someone else would grab it and free me from having one more project.
Wise words, indeed!I don't know about you, but I don't like shooting myself in the foot. My philosophy is, 'If in doubt, don't.' It has saved me a lot of aggravation. My foot hurts enough already.
