Hi the DA 401 is a very light T/Arm with an Eff/Mass of 7.5 grams, so you will be right on the edge of the recommended frequency range. Also no good for your other A/T cart.

There’s a simple way to add effective mass to the Denon 401, & many others.....
Have a Denon DA401 on one table myself and use the method outlined below because the DA401 uses a proprietary headshell.
It’s simple to add 1/2. - 1 gram weight to the headshell by adding spacers/washers, heavier screws etc...
Start with the tonearm arm balanced with the components one wants to use (cartridge that’s just outside the range for instance)
For example—Use a VTF scale to find 1/2 gram of weight add to headshell then turn he counter weight out until it’s blanched again (probably about 3 grams). Then set vertical tracking force, now the tonearm’s effective mass is higher.
This can be done in all kinds of ways, with different types of counter balanced arms, < or >
Also use this method on many of my other arms, like the AR XA arm.
Not an original idea, this method is used by many to increase/decrease EM of tonearms.

Mine came with Denon manual, instructions, and mounting diagram unfortunately they are in Japanese
Here’s a photo, note the overhang is 14mm and the center to center distance is 230mm
Thank you, @adnick. I had only managed to find a Japanese manual myself so I guess I best start learning!
My armboard may arrive today so I will fit the arm, hopefully. I have three questions:
Firstly, do I balance the arm to zero using the counterweight and then dial in the VTF using the black dial at the end of the pipe, or is it counterweight set only?
Does the pivot point act like a unipivot, allowing 'rotation' clockwise and anticlockwise as well as movement in the horizontal plane?
What are the chromed screws on either side of the pivot point?

No problem...
Personally find it easier to balance the arm with cartridge then set VTF, doing both with the weight dial.
The chrome screws on the side of the arm arm bearing set screws, probably no reason to mess with them unless there’s an issue.
Yes I’d call it a uni-pivot x,y & z, but that may not fit everyone’s definition....
