Hi
The lights went out on my Toshiba receiver, and the radio function as well. I see a fuse blown, a 1.6A/125V. Here's the confession part...I used a bit of aluminum foil inside the dial shade to try and intensify the light directed down on the dial. Thought I secured it, but it slipped and shorted something. But the turntable plays, no issues there or with general volume and EQ controls.
Is it just as simple as replacing the 1.6 amp fuse? I looked the circuit board over carefully with a flashlight and didn't see anything else cooked...but I don't have an electronics background. I also know to look for cap covers that have heat shrunk and maybe going bad but didn't see any of that, either. Everything's original in this 40-year-old receiver.
AND if a guy wanted to find incandescent lamps if they need to be replaced (hopefully not) where might he look? And no LEDs, don't like the look. I can replace very simple things like that.
