First off, this thing has been a nightmare. I would not recommend this table. It is automatic return, but the gearing is a set 2-stage sequence, with two switches on opposite sides of the gear under the platter, wherein you NEED to hit the cut switch any time you want to stop listening, or else it's out of phase for the next cycle, and won't auto-return the arm. The operator needs to completely understand how this works or else is guaranteed to think it's broken.
That said, it sounds decent when it's working. HOWEVER, it has no speed adjustment, just an AC motor with a single resistor and capacitor in circuit. And mine is spinning about 3% too slow - at ~32.5rpm. I have a new belt in what I believe are the correct dimensions: length (25"), width (5mm), and thickness (0.6mm).
I've tried wrapping tape of various thicknesses around the motor shaft, but that increases the speed too much, to ~35rpm. My idea for a next trial was to put a layer of glue around the shaft, but I thought I'd ask everyone here for any tips or tricks beforehand.
Thanks,
Ryan
