"Total Harmonic Distortion"

I finally acquired a copy of cartoonist Charles Rodrigues' book "Total Harmonic Distortion". If you are familiar with his work he was a regular contributor to Stereo Review, The New Yorker , and Playboy.

His funny (but often true) look at the "audiophile" world is just great. The man certainly knew how to relate to our passion in his cartoons. Extremely talented.

The book was published in 1988 but has been out of print for some time and hard to come by.

Rodrigues also appeared regularly in National Lampoon back in my formative years.

He passed away a few years ago; I believe he lived most of his life in MA (on or near Cape Cod, IIRC).
I should probably check my "facts", though.

Pioneervato, Is there a cartoon in this book where a man says "My wife would kill me if she knew how much these speakers cost". The next picture shows the guy laid out in a speaker coffin. I would love to get a copy of that cartoon. Thanks. Dave

I loved seeing his cartoons in Stereo Review. The book is a very nice collection of some of his work. Recommended!

I just got a NOS copy. There are some toons that I remember very well, some are ommited, but it's still great.

I like the one mentioned about the guy in his "speaker coffin"

I also love the one where the guy is standing next to his stereo, and, while on the phone, tells the person on the other end "Now listen to it when I switch the equalizer on!"

Classic.
