I posted earlier about picking up a pair of JBL 4301Bs. One of the speakers has the correct LE26 tweeter but someone replaced the 2nd tweeter with a Vifa tweeter. While searching for a correct LE26 or LE25 to replace the Vifa I found a pair of JBL 4301Es for sale. They were missing the woofers, but the amps, crossovers, and LE25s were all in place, so i bought 'em.
I was planning to pull the LE25s and throw away the rest but now I'm having second thoughts.
I discovered that the powered speakers were typically used in small control rooms, edit suites, etc, and were run from a sound board. So:
1. Am I correct to think I should NOT just pull the tweeters and throw everything else away?
2. Are the amps considered "good quality"?
3. How can I use the 4301Es in a home sound system if I have no sound board/mixer?
4. Do the amps have any value?
Again, I want to thank the members of this forum in advance for any help. You guys amaze me - talking about stuff that, well, let's just say I'm learning a lot. Thanks.
