Yesterday 5 minutes after finding a second hand (duuuuhh) SONY STR 4046 in a German Local ads websites I bought it and it is on it's way to me as we speak..

It look s like it is in really good nick, and according to the seller works nicely.
Did n't think about possible privious repairs or any thing... just fell in love with it and bought it...I know... stupid...Sony str 4064 -1.png Sony str 4064 -2.png

It does look like it need a good clean and some veneer "feeding" ... so basicly some tender loving care...

Is there anything special know on AK what i should look in asap? or just see how the condition is, how it sounds and then decide what route to follow?

It is my fifth tuner/receiver... so it is save to say that the bug has bitten and the collection is growing :-)

I picked up a STR-6200F a little while ago, a model a little younger than yours. Mine had a very scratchy volume control. DC offset and idle were also off.

Do a good cleaning. I found that only deoxit actually helped my volume control. Other contact cleaners didn't do much.
