Transaudio 1800 speed is slow...

It's a belt drive tt, probably CEC made, around 1978-79. It's in mint condition, even has the Anti Skating weight on a string. The issue is it's slow, platter/motor turns smoothly, no binding or rubbing. Belt is in pretty good shape. Anyone here know how to fix the slow speed issue?

I would always start with a couple of drops of sewing machine oil on the motor shaft and clean out the spindle well and redo the oil. Next step would be to order a replacement belt as there is no guarantee the one you have is the correct one.
 
I'm with Mr. Pig on this. Also, clean the motor pulley and the platter rim where the belt runs.
 
I've ordered a new belt, I've already oiled the motor and the spindle.

So, there's nothing electronics-wise that you can do to trim or control the speed?
 
Installed new belt. Timed an album with my Technics SL-D2, compared the time with !800, it's perfectly in time now. I really like the sound coming from my Transaudio 1800. In fact, I kind of prefer it over D2, what's wrong with me?
