Hey all,

Think I might have a couple of pre amp drivers that need replacing and was wondering if anyone had the proper replacement part # for a 2SC1328 and a 2SA763. I found an NTE number (199/234) but it seems that the forum does not like NTE parts and I rely on the experience provided here. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is the problem....I have been working on a 1070 and everything has gone well with the recap, but the right channel is a little less bright and a little lower volume than the left. If I switch around the pre-amp/amp connections, the problem moves, and the right channel is brighter and a little louder. It is not a big difference, but I can notice it. I did hit the transistors on the tone/pre-amp board with freeze spray and HE06 and HE08 gave a crackle. I turned it off, let it sit a few seconds and turned it back on and the right channel was out. I hit those with freeze spray and the channel came back. It has not failed since. I went back in and re-flowed the solder on HE06/HE08, but it still has the un-even problem. Thanks Rich

Thanks everyone, I guess the first question I should have asked is... do you think these are the problem from my description and if I change the right channel, should I also do the left? Thanks Rich
 
Tone Board seems fussy. Do the side that is acting up. If that solves the issue then You could do the other side. You don't have to. "If it's not broken don't fix it" ....go with what floats "Your" boat .

Freezing the components and having them act up tells you that you are in the right spot for trouble shooting the issues. Test the transistors. Look for broken traces and bad solder joints.
