Transistor replacement pioneer sx-3600

I have a pioneer sx-3600 with a bad output transistor 2SD883A with the bat wings (xm20). I cant seem to find a replacement for it. I've checked with the local seller in my town and he couldent even find a suitable replacement and hes been doing it since the 70's. I've checked digikey & mouser with no luck. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

bat wing pulls / salvage are found on your favorite gouger's site ePrey. Beware counterfeits.

Or get modern replacements, inexpensive, but with some work to make them fit the heat sink.

Thanks for the link. Yea from the research I did I am gonna have to alter the heatsink to make a different style transistor fit. Any recommendations for replacements that I could make fit with altering the heat sink ?

style? TO-247 etc... TO-220 has proven to be a bit under powered - mostly in the heat shedding role.
