Wanted to know what ceiling corners behind speakers might be better for trapping bass - directly behind speakers (#2), in-between speakers (#1). When I walk right in front of speakers (from speaker to speaker) I can hear excess bass (speakers are out from the wall). I have the far corners (#3 - where two walls and ceiling meet) paneled with 2'x2' Owens Corning 705. (There is a single window w/wooden horizontal blinds centered in #1.)
Looking for feedback because I don't want to really screw up the diffusion of sound or cause over-absorption of higher Hz. (And it's hard experimenting with panel placement because my ceilings are sheetrock.) I have more 705 or I can make corner traps out of two 3" wedge foam tiles.
Drawing not entirely to scale. Room width = 13.5', length = 15', ceiling = 7.5', speaker separation = 6.5', bedroom floor is carpeted, speakers = JBL L110.
