Treasure Trove of Vintage Gear and LP's

Today during lunch I visited a used music store that I learned about a month or so ago from a guy who was selling a bunch of records at a yard sale. While I was expecting to find a good selection of used records and CDs, what I found was a treasure trove of vintage gear. Here's a list of just some of what I saw today:

Pioneer SX-1010
Marantz 2220B
Marantz 2230
Marantz 2238B
Sansui Eight receiver
Serveral other Pioneer SX-series receivers
A huge Technics or Sony receiver with gray faceplate
A big Kenwood receiver
Numerous turntables, including Pioneer, AR, and Denon
NAD 7250
AR-2's
Altec Model 3's
3 pairs of Marantz speakers of various sizes
Advent Large speakers
Dynaco A-25's
Hafler speakers
Infinity RS-5's
Yamaha floorstanders
KLH speakers (didn't get model number)
Akai speakers with gorgeous wood-lattice grills
Some larger Polk speakers (not SDA's :sigh:)...couldnt find model number on these.

Oh yeah, and there's records...lots and lots of records. All priced at pretty much market rates, so highly collectible records are priced accordingly (like $75 for a mint copy of Meet the Beatles).

Unfortunately, there was so much to take in that I didn't really commit electronics prices to memory (too busy wiping the drool off my chin :D ). I will say that prices seemed to be reasonable...$125-$175 for the Pioneer SX-series receivers, for example....and the owner guarantees everything to work. I'll try to make a list and maybe take some pics next time I'm in there (which I can assure you will be soon...I want to check out the AR TT and those Advent Large and Dynaco speakers!!).

It's always cool finding a place like this, hopefully your the one who gets to "pounce" on it first....always a dream of mine in my travels,to find a place like this,un-touched.Have seen places of audio interest, old thrifts/second hand stores/etc.,turned around, pulled into the parking lot, anticipating I've found the mother-lode of audio(or videogames, one of my other hobby interest),walked in....nothing there of interest,or some bozo has already raided it:no: .I also have this bad audio/hobby of other interests nightmare....finding a place like this, not being able to get everything, leaving stuff behind, coming back and finding it all...GONE,or the place suffered a fire and you return with a lump in your throat to find it all gone up in smoke!!Oh well, glad it was all a dream:scratch2:  Rob
