Trio 600 / 600T Vintage Advert Scan

Found the attached advert for the Trio (Kenwood) 600 amplifier and 600T tuner in an old UK Hi-Fi magazine I was looking through recently.

Allowing for inflation the advert would now have to read "If you earn less than Fourty Thousand pounds a year we reluctantly suggest you turn the page". At the time I earned about £2500 per year and so had to make do with a KR-4070 receiver instead.:tears:

The Supreme series was a serious luxury for minor group of audiophile.

I was lucky to own a Model 500, it definitely need deoxi / restoration to meet it's original spec (one channel doesn't have any output. :thumbsdn:

Anyway, the front panel is excellent and free from any scratch, it just a pleasure to watch the excellent workmanship, instead of listen to it right now.

"The price of the stamp will be refunded with every purchase"..... See who can claim this to their customers today ???

They come up, but not often. Rumor has it there may only be 1000 pcs of each made. That number could actually only apply to the 700 amp, or the 600, or the 500. I dunno, and I cannot refute or support that claim with anything other than hearsay.

But if you're looking, there's a 500 for sale on Audiogon right now.

a membert here "stole" the big-metered Kenwood 700 amp for $340-$380 recently, missing a single knob, which his friend will machine for him.

I'm sorry, but I cannot remember his name.

Member Theophile has two 700s (lucky, licky fella). One recently refurbed by Glen.

I believe it's member Inspiribomb who's got a collection of them too.

Bigstereo got the steal 700M. I recently acquired a 700M/C set also for a decent price, especially considering the last 700M (in fair condition) sold for $700.

I thought Kenwood, of all people, wouldn't do this sort of thing. But the units are nice. And I have a High Fidelity review of the Kenwood 600T "supertuner". $650 in 1977.

Actually, it sounds like the advert was run by the British Distributor of Kenwood. And they would have wanted to be snobby.
