Trio KA-9900 volume pot question

I just repaired my 2.Trio KA-9300 poweramp section and KA- 9900- tone/switch sections they are japanese versions of Model 600 and KA-907.

Using trio KA-907 for testing i must crank up the volume pot. until 10 o'clock in order to get decent sound( using easy to drive TDL RTL3 Transmission line speaker pair 8 ohm/100W/channel whilst by my Trio KA-9300 i can use the attenuator switch to get loud sound without cranking up the volume knob.

But it is easy by Sansui AU-707(AU-717 in Europe/USA) to get loud sound at 8/9 o'clock.

It seems to me my Trio KA-9900(as well as my Trio KA-8700) is a weak amp though they (Kenwood) quoted 150W/channem loaded 8 ohm speaker.

My question is is it normal by Trio KA-9900/KA-907 so in the manner ( at 12 o'clock or more) to use this volume pot in order to get loud sound?

Not enough information useless anecdotal comparison
Can not determine what actual power is going by numbers on volume control scale
OR why your disparity between machines
Also need to know value of potentiometer detent increment calibration the health etc etc etc

Sorry for the confusion.
I have repaired both amps succesfully.
Using the Trio KA-9900(aka Kenwood KA-907 rating 150 W/channel into 8Ohm) i must crank up the volume pot. more than 10 o'clock in order to get decent sound on my TDL RTL3 whilst it its easy to get it by using Sansui AU-707*Sansui AU-717 with less power rating, about 75w/channel into 8 ohm ) at 5 or 6 o'clock.

So my question is whether it is normal as designed by Trio Kenwood KA-9900/907 or not?

I still feel this amp Trio/Kenwood KA-9900/KA-907 is power-shy!


By Trio KA-9300(aka Model 600) i can use the attenuator switch 0dB to get loud sound at 5 or 6 o'clock like Sansui amp.

I think it depends on the volume pot used,for example my sansui 2000x will sound very loud even I have not touched the 9 clock but I need to crank more for my au 719,may be it was design that way.
My kenwood 600 does need to crank more on the volume n sometimes to get the preferred sound,it needs to be in crank to half only when I listen to mp3 player or phone but with cd it's normal. When I use phone or mp3 player for listening song,I used the attenuator to make it loud.
