Trouble with first refoam.

I found a super cheap pair of Boston Acoustic A40 II-series at Goodwill and decided to pick them up. They need new surrounds and I figured this would be a good chance to learn. I picked up a kit online that matches the specs and looked up some guide videos. However, now that I've peeled and scraped off the rotted foam, I can't figure out how to pop off the ring around the top of the basket (that the outer edge of the foam should rest under). In every video I've watched this has been a plastic piece that pops off with a flat screwdriver or a pry tool but mine are metal and seem to be a single piece. Any experience with these particular speakers or general advice? I'm really looking forward to hearing these restored but I'm stumped.

I am guessing that you just need a bigger hammer, but I don't have experience with these. You should be able to distinguish the basket from everything else once the woofers are out of the cabinets.

My A70's just had a gasket too. Try running a utility knife blade between the gasket and the basket to loosen the glue.
