I've just bought a faulty RA-56. I gave it 14v DC and the center lamp lit up. Seems like a good start but can't get any action out of any of the other lamps. Not sure if I need to supply more voltage, louder music, or something else Some questions below
- What internal voltage does it run at? I want to bypass the mains transformer while I troubleshoot it
- How loud does the sound input need to be to make the display light up? Would an iPod be enough? Again, this is for troubleshooting
- Only the middle lamp is lighting up currently, but I think that's due to at least one (known) blown lamp. Guessing they're wired in series
