Hello everyone, I'm having an issue with my phono setting on the Panasonic 7671 receiver. AM/FM work and sound great. When I plug the input to the phono to the receiver from the JVC L-F41 turntable with a Empire LTD 400 cartridge (probably 25-30 years old).
When hooked up to the phono, I get very faint sound through the speakers. When I turn it all the way up, I can barely hear the music from the record.
So, my receiver has a phono input and setting, but it doesn't produce sound. I'm wondering if any of you have any troubleshooting ideas.
Do any of you know if this particular receiver has a built-in phono preamp? I assumed that it did because it has a phono setting, so maybe this is the part malfunctioning?
Could the cartridge be bad? I thought that if the cartridge was bad, it wouldn't send any sound to the speakers, but I am getting a faint sound when volume turned up all the way.
I don't have any other equipment to test at the moment, but I would love to hear what some of you think as to what may be the issue, or if anyone has any other information about the Panasonic Model RE-7671.
