I trying to add an Audient ASP800 as a “slave” device to add additional channels to a PreSonus Quantum 26/32, for use with the DAW Studio One 4.6, on a 13” MacBook Air, early 2015, 8gb, connected via thunderbolt 2. Can’t seem to get it set up correctly. Lots of clicks and pops in the signal. I have the recommended 75 ohm clock cord, plugged from “out” of Quantum and into “in” of ASP800 and 2 ADAT cables connected from “out” of ASP800 to “in” of Quantum. I use the Universal Remote sent with Studio One and everything seems to line up at any kHz I set, as far as the read outs are concerned. When I press the green sync button it flashes briefly and sync’s up solid green. I get a solid signal, just not a clean one (not even Rx7 can fix it cleanly, yes I tried).
Please don’t send another set up video to watch, probably watched it already...Would accept one where they specifically plug these two devices together, from start to finish. Have also read all the set up guides online from both companies. Currently awaiting response from manufacturers and sales team and understand why responses are delayed.
So let me ask you, all knowing internet...I need help troubleshooting why the clicks and pops remain even though the clock and machine’s all seem to be talking, functioning and syncing correctly. All my cords have been tested and work (tested with the Quantum, all cords and noisemakers, in almost immediate real time) and I’ve turned it all off and on again.
Pretty sure it’s just my inexperience with the products. Curious if my guess is correct that the clock aligns the kHz and the ADAT’s send the audio signal. Everything seems to work, except the signal carries clicks and pops. Only thing I can’t test are the clock and optic cables, or at least I don’t know how...but all 3 are brand new and not the cheapest ones available (so should work).
Anyone out there familiar enough to fix this from a distance? Let me know what other information I can provide to assist in troubleshooting.
