Troubleshooting Wharfedale W70D Mid-Bass

Hi all,

I'm new to speaker restoration, and would appreciate any advice--

I've just purchased a set of Wharfedale W70D speakers, with both tweeters dead (as expected, to be replaced) but also one dead 8" mid-base. I opened it up to trace continuity, and found that the driver itself is the problem. Visually, it looks fine, no obvious problems at least to my eyes (pictures attached). Has any one run across any problems on these, or any advice on how to isolate/fix the problem?

I have seen some replacement speakers come up for sale, but I'd like to salvage this one if possible.

If I do have to replace it, I wanted to check if the code on the speaker itself means anything (I/W8B/6), I don't know how to interpret it. Replacements I found online from W70ds have different codes.

Thanks in advance!
